      COUNTRY: USA / California
         TOWN: Carson
         NAME: Barb Craig, Jeff Selth
      ADDRESS: 17700 S. Avalon Blvd., #337
               Carson, CA 90746, U.S.A.
        EMAIL: jselth@dhvx20.csudh.edu
        PHONE: (310) 327-8219
      SEX/AGE: Female, male / 11/23/44, 6/20/34
ACCOMMODATION: King-size bed in guest room, with adjacent private
bathroom, in 4-bedroom house. A bus that stops outside
the house leaves every 30 minutes or less for the
Los Angeles central business district, a trip of
40-50 minutes, stopping at or near USC, the Convention
Center, the Music Center, and Union (main railway)
               Station.
LOCATION: Carson is a town of 85,000 people, one of dozens that
make uP the huge Los Angeles metropolitan area (about
80 by 125 kilometres). For attractions and places other
than those mentioned above, the best way to travel is
by rental car, which compared to other countries is
inexpensive. We are 20 minutes by car from the
Los Angeles International Airport, and only 10 minutes
from the Long Beach airport, which has direct flights
to New York and other major U.S. cities.
MAX GUESTS: Generally speaking, one couple.
EXPENSES: Local phone calls are free, but almost all made by guests
would not be free, and should be made on a credit card,
or collect (reversing the charge). Breakfast and
occasional snacks are available free of charge; other
meals would probably need to be eaten at restaurants, of
which there are all kinds in the vicinity.
RESTRICTIONS: No smoking, alcoholic beverages or pets. Furthermore,
smokers and heavy drinkers are not welcome, because
of their odor, which we find offensive. No loud, rock,
               or country music.
EXPECTATIONS: Hosts are unable to spend time showing guests around or
Taking them places because of heavy work loads, but
will try to meet them at (preferably) the Long Beach or
(possibly) the Los Angeles airport, depending on our
schedules. The home is clothing-optional, and in the
hot months (June-September) one or both of the hosts
may wear nothing inside the house; guests are free
to do the same if they wish.
PRIOR NOTICE: Hosts would prefer a few weeks' notice if possible,
but will honor late requests whenever they can.
LANGUAGES: Husband speaks English and French fluently, can make
simple conversation in German and Spanish. Wife speaks
               English only.
THE HOST: Wife is a computer and secretarial consultant who works
               partly at home, partly at other places;
husband is a writer and editor working entirely at home.
Major interests are classical music, theatre,
and activities in a social club.
OTHER: Feel free to contact us. We love visiting in all parts
of the world, and hosting in ours.
