Refrigerator space to store foods, and limited food preparation facilities. Host does no food preparation (eats all meals in restaurants) and part of kitchen is used for storage of research materials. Across the street from a nice park, but in a neighborhood wherein it is not safe to walk about after dark. Public transportation is near but not reliable, and the use of a private car is highly recommended throughout the greater Los Angeles area. LOCATION: Carson is a small town (roughly, a rectangle about 3 miles by 4 miles. Home is centrally located. The town of Carson is located about 18 miles south of downtown Los Angeles. Both UCLA and USC are 15-20 miles away. MAX GUESTS: One would be very comfortable. A newlywed couple might be suitable, sleepling together in a single bed - but might be cramped for space. MAX LENGTH: Four days and three nights. EXPENSES: Local phone calls are free, but guest(s) expected to use their phone credit cards for other calls. Guests expected to pay for own meals. Fruit juice and soft drinks available free. RESTRICTIONS: No smokers. (Note, that does not mean no smoking inside the house, it means no smokers. Even smokers who smoke elsewhere have an odor about them and their clothing that the host finds offensive. No alcoholic beverages or pets on premises. No loud music or noise between 9 pm and 9 am. EXPECTATIONS: Guest will make visiting arrangements several weeks in advance, and provide own transportation. Host may offer advice about local attractions, best routes to various destinations, and may invite guest to join him for meals at local restaurants; other than that the guest is expected to operate independently of host's daily activities. LANGUAGES: English only. THE HOST: A retired professor very active in a variety of activities, including hiking, writing poetry, model railroading, reading, gardening, and a variety of social groups. Host is a lifelong nudist, and the home is a clothing-optional one, meaning that host and guest(s) are free to wear as much or as little clothing as desired. Baroque and classical music are usually playing, and winter evenings frequently include a fire in the fireplace. A hot tub is used several times a week, nude only. Host has an active social life with several female partners who stay over one or more nights per week. Host eats only two meals a day, and both in restaurants; first meal somewhere between 11 am and 2 pm, and the second somewhere between 6 pm and 9 pm. Several evenings a week are spent at parties, meetings, coffee houses, or other events. Advise me if additional data is needed.
